Reverend Henry Brinton, Sr. Pastor of Fairfax Presbyterian Church in Fairfax, Virginia is  guest preacher this Sunday, July 1 at Eagles Mere Presbyterian Church.

 

Rev. Brinton recently spent a month in Honduras totally immersing himself in the Spanish language to help him and his staff personally reach out to the growing Latino community in Fairfax, VA.  His church is also actively involved in building affordable housing on nearby church property in coordination with Habitat for Humanity. 

 

Rev. Brinton co-wrote a book on faith and physical exercise called “The Ten Commandments of Faith & Fitness”.  Rev. Brinton has completed both a marathon and a triathlon.  He also authored books on church hospitality and balancing issues of faith. Rev. Brinton’s message this Sunday will be "Come and See" based on the first chapter of the gospel of John. A special children’s message is included.

 

Special music this Sunday provided by the Leibowitz Family Orchestra featuring Kate Sullivan Nelson, vocalist. This ensemble recently performed to a large audience at the DeWire Center in Eagles Mere. Patriotic hymns will also be part of Sunday’s service.

 

A social in the garden after the service hosted by Marilyn Cromartie, an active member of Fairfax Presbyterian will serve light refreshments.  All are welcome for worship and fellowship at 10 AM. Casual wear is always acceptable and children most welcome. The church is located at 23 Pennsylvania Avenue.
